Prediction Properties of Aitken’s Iterated ∆ Process, of Wynn’s Epsilon Algorithm, and of Brezinski’s Iterated Theta Algorithm

چکیده
The prediction properties of Aitken’s iterated ∆ process, Wynn’s epsilon algorithm, and Brezinski’s iterated theta algorithm for (formal) power series are analyzed. As a first step, the defining recursive schemes of these transformations are suitably rearranged in order to permit the derivation of accuracy-through-order relationships. On the basis of these relationships, the rational approximants can be rewritten as a partial sum plus an appropriate transformation term. A Taylor expansion of such a transformation term, which is a rational function and which can be computed recursively, produces the predictions for those coefficients of the (formal) power series which were not used for the computation of the corresponding rational approximant.

An Iterated Greedy Algorithm for Flexible Flow Lines with Sequence Dependent Setup Times to Minimize Total Weighted Completion Time
This paper explores the flexile flow lines where setup times are sequence- dependent. The optimization criterion is the minimization of total weighted completion time. We propose an iterated greedy algorithm (IGA) to tackle the problem. An experimental evaluation is conducted to evaluate the proposed algorithm and, then, the obtained results of IGA are compared against those of some other exist...
متن کاملAn Iterated Greedy Algorithm for Solving the Blocking Flow Shop Scheduling Problem with Total Flow Time Criteria
In this paper, we propose an iterated greedy algorithm for solving the blocking flow shop scheduling problem with total flow time minimization objective. The steps of this algorithm are designed very efficient. For generating an initial solution, we develop an efficient constructive heuristic by modifying the best known NEH algorithm. Effectiveness of the proposed iterated greedy algorithm is t...
متن کاملIterated Local Search Algorithm for the Constrained Two-Dimensional Non-Guillotine Cutting Problem
An Iterated Local Search method for the constrained two-dimensional non-guillotine cutting problem is presented. This problem consists in cutting pieces from a large stock rectangle to maximize the total value of pieces cut. In this problem, we take into account restrictions on the number of pieces of each size required to be cut. It can be classified as 2D-SLOPP (two dimensional single large o...
متن کاملRotation number and its properties for iterated function and non-autonomous systems
The main purpose of this paper is to introduce the rotation number for non-autonomous and iterated function systems. First, we define iterated function systems and the lift of these types of systems on the unit circle. In the following, we define the rotation number and investigate the conditions of existence and uniqueness of this number for our systems. Then, the notions rotational entropy an...
متن کاملMethod of summation of some slowly convergent series
A new method of summation of slowly convergent series is proposed. It may be successfully applied to the summation of generalized and basic hypergeometric series, as well as some classical orthogonal polynomial series expansions. In some special cases, our algorithm is equivalent to Wynn’s epsilon algorithm, Weniger transformation (Computer Physics Reports 10 (1989) 189371) or the technique rec...
